REVIEW (Compulsion):
Velochrome is the title of the latest CD from First Law. Deep reverberations, pulsating electronics that achieve an overall symphonic effect. Largely instrumental, when voices do appear they are deep, distant and create another texture. Perhaps the finest moment is the 17 minute title track that ranges from cold ambience to full symphonic music. It covers much the same terrain as most dark ambient but First Law eschew a more contemporary feel and therefore Velochrome could be considered a prime slice of noir electronica.
